Overview of the Assessor Qualification

The Assessor qualification, is designed to provide learners with the knowledge and
practical skills to plan, conduct, and report on assessments within their field of
expertise. In South Africa, the most recognised Assessor qualification is aligned to
Unit Standard 115753, registered on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF),
typically at NQF Level 5.

Overview of the Assessor Qualification

• Face-to- Face: 4 days including Portfolio of evidence.
• Online/Hybrid: 4 days including Portfolio of evidence.

Specific Outcomes

Upon successful completion of the Assessor qualification, learners are expected to achieve the following outcomes:

• Demonstrate Understanding of Outcomes-Based Assessment: Grasp the principles and practices underpinning outcomes-based education and assessment.
• Prepare for Assessments: Plan and organise assessment activities and resources, taking into consideration the specific requirements of the standards to be achieved.
• Conduct Assessments: Gather evidence through a variety of assessment methods and tools, ensuring fairness and objectivity.
• Provide Feedback: Offer clear, constructive feedback to candidates,
supporting learning and improvement.
• Record and Report Assessment Results: Maintain accurate records and complete required documentation, ensuring compliance with organisational and regulatory standards.
• Review and Reflect on Assessment Practices: Evaluate the effectiveness of assessment processes and refine practices to enhance reliability and effectiveness.
